I noticed that the ISAH big banner was already hanged on the shade where we will hold the party.============I was unloading the chairs from my van when I got a call from Danny V.========They're having a coffee at the Jack in the Box. I joined them: Danny V, Al S, and Art A.============we went back to the park======Around 7am, Antonio I, Sinait president, arrived with his pick up and few chairs and table=======Unit organization under ISAH were represented: Annak Ti Sinait, Tony I; Sinait Alumni, Gus C, and Hermie G; Cabugao Sons & Daugthers by Al and Rose; Vigan, Tesssie A., Annac ti Caoayan, Jenny Quezon, Santa, Danny V and Emmie V, Narvacan, Louie and Lucy, Ceasar and Bernadette, Tagudin, Edgar Fernandez,===========Call to order by Danny V., Opening prayer by Jun A. Issue: to reschedule the Mrs. ISAH pageant to later date such as March 9, 29 or April 6, 2013.========Danny to make a follow up with the hotel and negotiate the amount the hotel is asking to pay related to the rescheduling.======majority of them agreed so the candidates will have more time to solicit and sell tickets.=======

Giving [Romans 12:8] = A liberal cheerful attitude about giving. Ability to discern need and meet it. Responsible use of money and possessions for the extension of God’s Kingdom. 9. Healing [James 5:14-15] [1Corinthians 12: 9 & 30] = Praying effectively for those who need healing, physical, spiritual or emotional. Compassion for those who are ill. Some people are given this gift as a ministry. 10. Helper [1 Corinthians 12:28] = Helps with routine work freeing others for different ministries; often likes to work alone; has a humbleness of spirit about this gift. 11. Hospitality [Acts 16:15] = Warm and open hearted appreciation for other people; opens home to strangers, to the church, invites others to church, greets newcomers. 12. Intercession [James 5:16] Persistent in prayer, not daunted by long lists or seemingly unanswered prayer; prays regularly for other’s needs. 13. Knowledge [1 Corinthians 12:8] = Receives and recognizes a supernatural answer which is unlikely to be from the person’s own experience. A spiritual gift, most often used in the ministry of healing or counseling. 14. Leader [Romans 12:8] [2 Samuel 23:3-4] = Leads with tact, natural authority, clear direction; has the ability to see people’s gifts, encouraging and directing their use of the gifts; decision maker; looked to as a leader; has vision; is generally forward looking; helps to set goals. 15. Martyr [Acts 7:54-60] [1 Corinthians 13:3] = Lack of concern for personal safety or reputation when God calls to obedience; suffers quietly and peacefully when called by God to accept persecution when proclaiming the Gospel. 16. Mercy [Romans 12:8] = Bears another’s burdens and gives assistance and guidance; has a kind heart; empathy and helpfulness. 17. Miracles [1 Corinthians 12:10] Demonstrates God’s power in the resolution of an impossible situation. Prays for miracles, expects miracles, sees miracles. This is a spiritual gift, given when needed by the Body of Christ. 18. Missionary [Acts 13:2-3] = Teaches, pastors, evangelizes in a different culture; joy and excitement in ministering in different neighborhoods or other parts of the world. 19. Pastor [Ephesians 4:11] = Shepherds, counsels, cares about another’s spiritual walk; looks for lost sheep to bring back into the fold. 20. Prophecy [1 Corinthians 12:10] 14:1, 3,5 & 31] = Bold proclamation of God’s word; speaks out a word from the Lord in prayer meetings for encouragement, warning or consolation. A spiritual gift sometimes given to one person more than another. 21. Service [Romans 12:7] = Serves the poor, the disadvantaged, the parish, the community and the world; busy, productive, efficient, Marthas. 22. Teaching [Romans 12:7 and James 3:1] = Understands, communicates, imparts facts of the Christian life in such a way that others are uplifted and strengthened for work in the Body. 23. Wisdom [1 Corinthians 12:8] Acts on word of knowledge and prophecy; Recognizes the wisdom of speaking or acting in a counseling situation; discerning real problems as opposed to perceived problems; recognizes spiritual gifts in others. As Oscar Feucht said: “The individual Christian has a mission in the world no one else can perform for him [her], but the individual himself [herself]. My personal Journal and Volunteer Activity Friday Sept 14, 2012 ======As an organizer and coordinator of the Mission Day Service: Feeding the Homeless, Adopt a Hwy, Hawaii Food Bank drive, I delivered can foods, dry foods, saimin and other items to the Hawaii Food Bank in Mapunapuna. These items are collected by the St. Paul's Church and Annak Ti Sinait members. I am doing this for many years now as my community service. I celebrated my birthday yesterday with my family with simple dinner: my wife, daugther, son-in-law, 2 grandchildren, my sister, my nephew, niece and others. Thanks God for a great and wonderful GIFT - another year.

St. Paul’s Church 5 Bishops Awardees 2012 ============1. Felisa Andres was born on October 24, 1930 in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur. She came to Hawaii on September 24, 1959 and lives with her loving husband Frank Andres in Kalihi and they were blessed with one daughter Janet. Her husband passed away when Janet reached her fourth birthday and made Felisa a single mother. Raised Janet, sent to school from kindergarten, high school and college until Janet graduated from the University of Hawaii where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree, major in Finance- and now employed in one of the local companies in Honolulu. Felisa is active with St. Paul’s Church as a regular pledger, fundraising projects, regular Saturday church altar clean up lady. “Umayak latta makidangdanggay iti simbaan iti Sabado ken Domingo no la ketdi ta nasalun-atak”. She said.=============== 2. ERLINDA P. BUTAY is the fourth child of the late Conrado Pasion and Venancia Dureg from San Pablo, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She moved to Hawaii in 1973 and attended Honolulu Community College. Erlinda married Noli Butay in December 1982 at St. Paul's Church. They have two daughters -- Elinor and Raquel. Since becoming a member of St. Paul’s Church, Erlinda actively participates in various church activities. She focuses her involvement on various fundraising activities, feeding the homeless, the church’s Adopt-A-Highway project, and activities arranged by the Episcopal Church Women’s group. Erlinda has served as chairman for Valentine Night 2009, and as member and past secretary of the WOSP. She expresses dedication to her current responsibilities as pledger, staff member on the church newsletter, Lay Reader, and member of the Bishop Committee where she is serving as Clerk. She continues to serve as a church delegate at annual meetings for the Convention of the Diocese of Hawaii. Outside of the church, she retains membership in the Bingao Elem. School & San Nicolas National High School-Bingao Annex Alumni Association. She is currently employed at The AES Design Group, Inc.============ 3. Amonio Coloma Dacanay was born on January 18, 1941. He is the oldest child of seven children to the late Juan Daguimol and Anselma Coloma Dacanay of Salanap, Ilocos Norte, where he attended grade school. He also attended Ilocos Norte Arts & Trade in Laoag City. He immigrated to Hawaii on March 18, 1970 and worked full time with Grace Pacific Corporation for 32 years and as a part time busboy at nights at Sky View Terrace [Fort Shafter] for 12 years, while on Saturdays he also worked part time for the Dole Company for several years. After retirement from Grace Pacific Corporation, he still works part time with his son in law and daughters’ company, AMV Air Conditioning, Inc. Amonio has been married to Isabel Fagaragan Dacanay for 42 years and have 2 daughters, Amibelle [Aldrin’ Villahermosa and Lorelei [Jaime] Dos Santos and have 5 grandchildren, Amber Caitlyn Villahermosa, Aldrin II Villahermosa, Alexa Cassidy Villahermosa, Jeremiah James Dos Santos & Jayden Isaiah Dos Santos. Amonio has been a member of St. Paul’s Church even before Reverend Timoteo Quintero retired in 1997, and became very active when Rev. Canon Randolph Albano took over, became member of the Bishop’s committee, and Sunday morning altar preparation, involved in fundraising and service ushering.============ 4. Juliana “Julie” M. Dureg was born in San Pablo, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She is the second child of Marcelino and Eliza Marquez. She attended elementary school in San Nicolas, Holy Spirit Academy in high school, and Divine Word College of Laoag where she graduated Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting in 1989. She is married to Rodel Ramos Dureg of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, and they are blessed with four children: Julius [Marjorie] ; Justin, Jerrick and Josaiah and two grandchildren, Eliza and Ezekiel, to love and enjoy. Julie joined Rodel to Hawaii in 1993. They started attending St. Paul’s Church regularly in 1995 after the second child was baptized. Both of her sons Julius and Jerrick have served St. Paul’s as acolytes. Currently, Julie is a member of the Bishop’s Committee, Eucharistic Minister, Assistant Treasurer, Women’s group fundraiser coordinator. Pledger and has been a delegate to the Diocesan Convention and the Episcopal AsiaMerica Consultation held in San Francisco, California in June 2002. She is the 2nd Queen of St. Paul’s Church Valentine’s Night in 2006. She works full time for Cookie Corner Hawaii, Inc. [16 years] started as receptionist and now as an Office Manager. She is also working part time as a Financial Representative with Guardian Life Insurance Company. =================5. FELY R. MARIANO was born in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to the late Mauro and Virginia Rivera. e father, Alfredo Rivera. She attended St. Catherine’s School of Midwifery in Manila. She was married to Benjamin in 1962 in the Philippines, and immigrated to Hawaii in 1963. Upon her arrival, she started attending masses at St. Paul’s Church. She participates in various church activities such as fundraisings, feeding the homeless, and cleaning the church on Saturdays. Fely is a pledger, Lay Reader, Bishop Committee member, as well as member and current president of the Women of St. Paul’s. She is involved with activities of the Episcopal Church Women. Fely has been a delegate to several annual meetings of the Convention of the Diocese of Hawaii. She has attended EAM conventions in Seattle and Honolulu. Her community involvement includes being a member of the Abagatan ti Karayan Association of Hawaii and Sarrat Association of Hawaii. Fely and Benjamin were blessed with four beautiful children – Yvette, Benjamin, Shannon and Janet. Amonio has been married to Isabel Fagaragan Dacanay for 42 years and have 2 daughters, Amibelle [Aldrin’ Villahermosa and Lorelei [Jaime] Dos Santos and have 5 grandchildren, Amber Caitlyn Villahermosa, Aldrin II Villahermosa, Alexa Cassidy Villahermosa, Jeremiah James Dos Santos & Jayden Isaiah Dos Santos. Amonio has been a member of St. Paul’s Church even before Reverend Timoteo Quintero retired in 1997, and became very active when Rev. Canon Randolph Albano took over, became member of the Bishop’s committee, and Sunday morning altar preparation, involved in fundraising and service ushering. 4. Juliana “Julie” M. Dureg was born in San Pablo, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She is the second child of Marcelino and Eliza Marquez. She attended elementary school in San Nicolas, Holy Spirit Academy in high school, and Divine Word College of Laoag where she graduated Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting in 1989. She is married to Rodel Ramos Dureg of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, and they are blessed with four children: Julius [Marjorie] ; Justin, Jerrick and Josaiah and two grandchildren, Eliza and Ezekiel, to love and enjoy. Julie joined Rodel to Hawaii in 1993. They started attending St. Paul’s Church regularly in 1995 after the second child was baptized. Both of her sons Julius and Jerrick have served St. Paul’s as acolytes. Currently, Julie is a member of the Bishop’s Committee, Eucharistic Minister, Assistant Treasurer, Women’s group fundraiser coordinator. Pledger and has been a delegate to the Diocesan Convention and the Episcopal AsiaMerica Consultation held in San Francisco, California in June 2002. She is the 2nd Queen of St. Paul’s Church Valentine’s Night in 2006. She works full time for Cookie Corner Hawaii, Inc. [16 years] started as receptionist and now as an Office Manager. She is also working part time as a Financial Representative with Guardian Life Insurance Company. 5. FELY R. MARIANO was born in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to the late Mauro and Virginia Rivera. e father, Alfredo Rivera. She attended St. Catherine’s School of Midwifery in Manila. She was married to Benjamin in 1962 in the Philippines, and immigrated to Hawaii in 1963. Upon her arrival, she started attending masses at St. Paul’s Church. She participates in various church activities such as fundraisings, feeding the homeless, and cleaning the church on Saturdays. Fely is a pledger, Lay Reader, Bishop Committee member, as well as member and current president of the Women of St. Paul’s. She is involved with activities of the Episcopal Church Women. Fely has been a delegate to several annual meetings of the Convention of the Diocese of Hawaii. She has attended EAM conventions in Seattle and Honolulu. Her community involvement includes being a member of the Abagatan ti Karayan Association of Hawaii and Sarrat Association of Hawaii. Fely and Benjamin were blessed with four beautiful children – Yvette, Benjamin, Shannon and Janet. She works as life producer of Pacific Guardian Life Insurance and as advance sales counselor for the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.

From the desk of President Danny Villaruz: For a quick summary, the mission served in ISAH’s 4 Ilocos Homecoming Mission started in December 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011 we helped approximately 45,000 indigent’s patients. The December, 2009 and 2011 ISAH’s 4th Homecoming Mission, which was in cooperation with Titans USA Foundation, The Etrata Sr. & Maria Etrata Foundation, the Bayanihan Clinic Without Walls, the Friends of the Filipino Community and other sponsors; to all the more than 50 strong homecoming medical team and volunteers headed by ISAH Advisers Dr. Charlie Sonido, and Former Rep. Jun Abinsay. This mission included programs such as free medical consultation, minor surgery promotion of education or the Educational Olympiad, arts, and culture. We also held the 4th Ilocos Sur Idol singing competition. The timing of this mission was very satisfying, since it coincided with the Christmas season. The true spirit of sharing and giving to our kababayans came at a time when they most needed the help of medical attention, but also in gift giving and monetary giving for the less fortunate. The missions provided services to Ilocos: Sur and Norte, Payatas and Quezon City. The estimated cost of this mission was approximately $200,000 to $300,000. To all the volunteers for this successful mission, from the bottom of my heart my sincere appreciation for your sacrifices and I salute each and every one of you for a job well done. Jun Abinsay, one of the prime leaders of the Medical and Homecoming Mission each two year in an odd years.========= Ilocos Sur is a province in the Northern Luzon bounded in the north by Ilocos Norte, east by the Mountain Province, west by the south China Sea. And south by the La Union and Benguet. Ilocos Sur’s history can be traced back in the 16th century during the early years of the Spanish colonization era. Its capital city, Vigan, is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in that is one of the few Hispanic towns left in the Philippines –cobble-stone streets with centuries old Hispanic architecture houses. Their rich cultural heritage makes the Ilocos Surian of Hawaii very proud of their home province, their identity and their people. Ilocos Sur as a province is very rich in culture and historical background. About 4am this morning, I called Marcelo Acopan, Jr., Bishop's Warden, to remind him to pick me up going to the park.==============We arrived at the park at 4:20am.......we put up the big banner.===about 7am, Manong Rafael and his twin grandson and brought pandesal.=====about 7:29am, Danilo Duldulao and his son Melvin and father in law Eustaqio arrived with couple of chairs and tables=======a few minutes later, Rey Peralta arrived with tents, tables, chairs.......we put up the tents.========The program went well with the attendance about 200========

She won with a commanding lead over her two opponents also from the island of Oahu.She is the 3rd woman president. ========= The convention was hosted by the Big Island Filipino Community Council [BIFCC] headed by Christina Ranan, president and Convention Co-Chairs Lito Asuncion, Dayday Hopkins, Rommel Dela Cruz with his hardworking committee members.============= According to reliable source, there were approximately 120 delegates representing various organizations affiliated with the respective Island Councils such as the Molokai, Maui, Lanai, Big Island, Kauai, Oahu.========== Convention theme: Re-unite, Re-Connect and Re-Energize============ Quezon is not new to the United Council. Monday July 30, 2012 =======My 41st year in Hawaii since I arrived here on July 30, 1971 via PAL with my brother Elias.=======My activities today in Feeding the Homeless as I am doing it many years back--as I organized and coordinated my Mission Day Service --and in July 2010, it became a regular project by the UFCH/OFCC and partner organizations, resolution 2010-001 adopted by the general assembly of the United Filipino Council of Hawaii. Sunday July 29, 2012 Personal Journal and Volunteer activity ======As usual and as a normal routine in our Sunday schedule, my wife and I went to church as a regular goer and as an officers of the St. Paul's Church.======In the afternoon, I joined the Cayetano for Mayor Unity rally at the Farrington High School Cafeteria. Hundreds and hundreds of people attended.======Campaign volunteers include but not limited to Toy Arre, Judge Graulty, Eddie Agas, Jun Abinsay, Flor Martinez emceed the program.===I met the Damilians group like Ernie Pascua, Lydia Pascua, Roland Pascua, Edith Pascua, Jess Quemado, Princess Quemado, Gladys Emperador, Atty Vernon Rivera, others=========At this rally, Ernie Pascua and I made a guess or prediction that Cayetano will WIN 53-55 % outright on August 11 primary election. Survey says in the Filipino votes: Cayetano is 44%; Carlisle is 8%; and Caaldwell is 3%; 48% undecided;===Hawaii reporter survey says: Cayetano is 63%; Caldwell is 14% and Carlisle is 11%========Star-Advertiser survey says: Cayetano is 47%; Carlisle is 27% and Caldwell is 25%=========

About 15 Other volunteers include Charlie R., Larry B, I met a Benjamin B. Cayetano from Nueva Ecija next to me along the road. My approximate count on cars. vehicles passing by is about 1000 per 20 minutes or 3000 per hourore or less======The same morning, former Rep Romy Mindo and his group also sign waving.

We talked about the next Thursday sign waving and then his Fundraising dinner at the Royal Palace Chinese Restaurant by Ice Palace Rink....As a co-chair in his campaign, I suggested that he must go to corner to corner sign waving, and then door-to-door, meeting personally the residents in his district....set a number houses everyday until the primary on Aug 11------goal is to get an advance votes vs the 2 ds.====at least 1/3 plus 27 or 277-----stay in the high road---- use campaign donation wisely and legally =====

Danny Villaruz, a canditate for District 31, State House of Representatives, introduced the Installing officer and guest speaker Judge Graulty as a former State Representative, State Senator, State Insurance Commissioner, Circuit Court Judge appointed by then Governor Ben Cayetano, now candidate for Honolulu mayor. Graulty as a grassroot coordinator for Cayetano for Mayor. Judge Graulty said: celebration such as this is a reconnection to our roots where we came from. Giving back to our hometown and to the community. Reconnection to Santa, Ilocos Sur. President Enrico said: to unite, to plan, to act and to achieve our goals.

Danny and I had a cup of coffee talk at McDo Pearl kai. We talked about other ways to reach voters like door to door every morning and afternoon.

Wednesday July 11, 2012 Volunteer Activities========Early this morning about 5am-7am, joined the Cayetano Sign Waving with Eddie Agas group in front of Hawaii Medical Center/former St. Francis West, and other volunteers.========This afternoon, I attended the preliminary OFCC Board meeting on July 22, 2012 to plan and prepare an agenda and presentation of Jean Jeremiah's new leadership. =======We plan how to address possible questions and inquiries====in attendance were Jean, OFCC new president; Danny, OFCC past president; Amado, OFCC past president; Jake, UFCH past president and former State Representative; Ilalo, OFCC past president and Jun, OFCC past president and former State Representative. =======Tomorrow July 12 will be a Candidates Forum at the Oahu Veterans Center in Foster Village. Danny will participate in the Forum as a candidate for the District 31 House of Representative.

Walk a Mile for Fun July 7, 2012

Walk a Mile for Fun this Saturday morning July 7, 2012======I dropped my wife to work at Barbers Point, now Kalaeloa.====I have to walk by foot today as part of my exercise. It's now 7:45am. I had my back pack with me, with bottled water, my camera, extra t-shirt, lotion. It is a walk, small, slow and regular pace. Just for fun. I passed Bataan Rd, turned left to Nissau Rd connecting to FD Roosevelt Blvd.=======I passed Coral Sea Rd=====then, Corregidor Rd===then Philippine Sea fronting Hawaiian Railway Station===I turned left to Renton Rd, now passing these old plantation houses at Varona Village----======passing the bridge separating Varona and Tenney Village------another plantation houses-----then Park Row==== I reached home about 9:20 am. It's 4 and a half miles.

CAYETANO RALLY IN WAIPAHU JULY 3, 2012

Its July 3, 2012 Tuesday, Cayetano Rally in Waipahu Intermediate School along Farrington Hwy. Many volunteers along the roadside for sign waving coordinated by Eddie Agas, Sr.-------The rally, meeting the avance was sponsored by the Lakay Filipino headed by Joey Alcantra, Orlando Ganir, Orlando Soriano, Orlando Matias, others.==========In the evening, it was ISAH meeting at the Susannah Wesley Community Center. In attendance from Danny Villaruz, Dr. Torres, Al Sabangan, Louie Funtanilla, Cesar Fajardo, Art Abinsay, Amado Yoro, Estrella Taong, Bernadette Fajardo, Rose Sabangan, Maria Etrata, Loida Yamamoto [Paul Taong came in at the later part of the meeting to pick up Estrella]

JULY 4TH 2012 WITH FORMER FRIENDS BERT, MARIO AND IRENE

JULY 4, 2012 THURSDAY Meeting at McDonald Waipahu with Mario Orbito, Bert Ugalino and Irene Ugalino from 10am to 12:30 pm today. We remembered the olden days in the 1976 as a writer, designer, printer. We both organizers of the Tri Media Council except Irene. Irene was active with Ilocos Surian and the UFCH in the 80's. Bert was a former president of UFCH, member of the Bannawag Hawaii Bureau, organizer and officer of the GUMIL USA. Mario was a former OFCC vice president, Gumil USA, Tri Media Council, he is a printer, graphic and designer, I worked with him at the Hawaii Filipino News, Santak, Pluma, we worked with former Ambassador Juan C. Dionisio, Sr. Corky Trinidad, Pepi Nieva, Mario Albalos. We remembered how hard to work in an old typewriter: Corona Smith, printing press manual, varityper, others during the first year in the publication of Ilokandia Magazine in from 1976 up to 1981- the HFN, Santak and Pluma. Irene was an active officer of Ilocos Surian, and the Miss Ilocos Surian Pageant, active with UFCH Mrs. Hawaii Filipina in the 1986-1988 under her husband Bert was the UFCH president. We talked about the Cayetano campaign, and other Filipino-american political figures. We all projected that Cayetano can win outright this primary election on August 11. We plan to meet again.
