OFCC LEADERSHIP COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

OFCC LEADERSHIP COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OFCC PAST AND PRESENT COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS By Amado I. Yoro FROM: • Amado Yoro TO: • Friends of Ilalo Parayno CC: • Danny Villaruz Message flagged Saturday, June 2, 2012 11:01 AM 70's, 80's, 90's were gone. Attendance, working together, number of candidates, has no more comparison after the declined 2005-2007, Miss Oahu Filipina competing for Miss Hawaii Filipina those 87 to 2003 came home to Oahu with Miss Hawaii Filipina new title. 16 times almost in the row. Economy? Leadership? Community Relations/PR problem or attitude problem, one or two of them or all of the above perhaps a reason for the decline.================= Ilalo, in the 70's, you are 76 batch, your group are the Professionals [Filipino Professionals: Mel Europa, Mel Agag, Ernie Toledo, Toy Arre, others, my batch in 78-84 are the writers group/media group: Ric Labez, Pete Ramos, Mario Albalos, Mario Orbito, Bert Ugalino, Mike Ulibas, Lulu Dela Cruz, Mel Gonzales, Carmen Cantorna, Jun Abinsay, Gerry Rojo, Pacita Saludes, Rev. David Saludes, others================ Danny's batch in 2006- 2010 are different. 2007-until this time is the period of recovery and period of struggle - we are regaining the numbers----positively and progressively ---============= We are now in the 21st century. Sorry, they can't match those years over 150 to 220 delegates per annual convention. those years are years of landline telephone, manual typewriter, Corona, Smith -------now, very advanced technology, electronics assets, email, texting, so quick and so fast communication !============ Thank you for my NEW CALLING : resident archivist - Senior Supremo Secretario--- See you Amado self annointed historian From: Friends of Ilalo Parayno To: Amado Yoro Cc: Danny Villaruz Sent: Saturday, June 2, 2012 10:23 AM Subject: Re: Will Also Pre-interview All Candidates Amado and Danny, I surely appreciate Amado's methodical and consistent recording and retrieval system. Amado is the OFCC resident archivist. In addition to being El Guapo, he is also Senor Supremo Secretario. I am very proud of Amado and his work. Magaling! Ilalo ============================================== On Sun, Jun 3, 2012 at 8:55 AM, Amado Yoro wrote: Good morning Ilalo and Danny, I concur, Thats a hope, and thats a goal.....as COPP we can always do that for the leadership whoever they may be. Its US - we, the COPP to advise the officers.======================= Set a GOAL is so vital in every move we do. It works on the MEMBERSHIP Committee since we aet 3% growth goal in 2007 after the period of 'DECLINE' 2005-2007 leadership: 21 units and 91 delegates FilComCenter OFCC convention....from an over 90 units and 400 delegates in 2001 at the Hawaii Convention Center. I knew it asw I was the Chair on the Nomination and Election under the Ernie Pascua's General Chairmanship======================= 2011 convention we had 133 delegates from 38 unit orgs. This 2012; we have 143 delegates from 41 units org. Thats growth...thats progress ---thats an accomplishment====================== Hoping that 2013 will have another 3% increase..... If not.....who to blame----of course the leadership....but they are not alone----thats why we have COPP to advise..... Good day See you all Thank you Amado From: Friends of Ilalo Parayno To: Danny Villaruz Cc: Amado Yoro Sent: Saturday, June 2, 2012 7:16 AM Subject: Re: Will Also Pre-interview All Candidates Aloha Danny, Thank you for you response. Good intentions are excellent. I trust that in future planning, that due considerations are seriously taken into account in terms of the time and organizational arrangements needed to accomplish such pursuits. I will see you at the next meeting. Ilalo On Sat, Jun 2, 2012 at 10:44 PM, Danny Villaruz wrote: It was an excellent idea (interviews of candidates); due to timing; it was not pursued seriously. Hope that in the future, this idea will be taken into consideration. Thank you for both of you for an open mind on this subject. I appreciate the ideas your shared with us in dealing with discipline and removal of officers. I wonder what Danny's thoughts are about the nomination forms and the statement about interviews. Although the intentions are good, my knowledge of interviews tell me that it is a time consuming process to implement. It would involve a lot of time just to schedule people at their convenient time available and of course our ability to meet with them and go through the procedures. We would also need a room that has some privacy. I wish that part of the convention report was not made. I believe we have to be very patient in listening to the campaign speeches. The process of having the candidates speak at the convention is good. However, it will also take quite a bit of time. The walking time from their seats to the microphones and the hesitations before the speech will add up to more time than just the minutes allowed per candidate. I am crossing my fingers that things will go well at the convention. I hope to see you at the Consulate on Thursday evening, pending that my car will be fixed by then. Maraming salamat, Ilalo On Sat, Jun 2, 2012 at 4:17 PM, Amado Yoro wrote: Hi Ilalo, That was my clear understanding at that time; If you recall, I even took the time to write what is supposed to be incorporated in the Nomination form. I even emailed you grounds to discipline or remove an officer/member. You know what, the forms were sent out without any corrections except the dates and deadline. NO PRE-INTERVIEW. Only chance we hear the candidates when they speak before the election will be conducted. Candidates for president, vice, sec, treas, auditor will be given a max of 3 minutes; candidates for directors, 2 minutes max. Personally, I don't want to waste my time in that anymore. Lets move forward. Lets wait until we have a new set of officers. Thursday June 7 will be the last meeting of the Convention Committee at the Consulate. Its time to collate and put things altogether in a convention packet. You will be one of the ballot canvassers or one of the marshals subject to approval of the president. Amado From: Friends of Ilalo Parayno To: Danny Villaruz ; Amado Yoro Sent: Friday, June 1, 2012 9:14 AM Subject: Will Also Pre-interview All Candidates Aloha Danny and Amado, In reviewing the Convention Committee report for March 23, 2012 to the OFCC Board meeting, there is under discussions: section number 2, which reads - "Nomination Form - the form will be revised to include a section asking for the candidate's qualifications and proposed program and leadership contributions to OFCC. Danny Villaruz, Amado Yoro and Ilalo Parayno are in charge of this revision and will pre-interview all candidates." I would like to be sure that the three of us are in compliance to what was stated in the report. Let me know your thoughts. I would like to alert you that, if you are calling a meeting on either Wednesday or Thursday next week, I will have difficulties in attending because: I need to have my car fixed which will require at least two days in the auto repair shop. My appointment is still tentative to either next week, Wednesday and Thursday - June 6th and 7th. Or, the week after, also Wednesday and Thursday, June 13th and 14th.
