Tuesday, August 28, 2012 Pammadayaw, maited kadagiti Lima a Bishop's Awardees Recognition Award to the % Bishop's Awardees of St. Paul's Church in Honolulu at the 53rd Anniversary Celebration on September 1, 3023 at the Empress Restaurant. St. Paul’s Church 5 Bishops Awardees 2012 ============1. Felisa Andres was born on October 24, 1930 in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur. She came to Hawaii on September 24, 1959 and lives with her loving husband Frank Andres in Kalihi and they were blessed with one daughter Janet. Her husband passed away when Janet reached her fourth birthday and made Felisa a single mother. Raised Janet, sent to school from kindergarten, high school and college until Janet graduated from the University of Hawaii where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree, major in Finance- and now employed in one of the local companies in Honolulu. Felisa is active with St. Paul’s Church as a regular pledger, fundraising projects, regular Saturday church altar clean up lady. “Umayak latta makidangdanggay iti simbaan iti Sabado ken Domingo no la ketdi ta nasalun-atak”. She said.=============== 2. ERLINDA P. BUTAY is the fourth child of the late Conrado Pasion and Venancia Dureg from San Pablo, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She moved to Hawaii in 1973 and attended Honolulu Community College. Erlinda married Noli Butay in December 1982 at St. Paul's Church. They have two daughters -- Elinor and Raquel. Since becoming a member of St. Paul’s Church, Erlinda actively participates in various church activities. She focuses her involvement on various fundraising activities, feeding the homeless, the church’s Adopt-A-Highway project, and activities arranged by the Episcopal Church Women’s group. Erlinda has served as chairman for Valentine Night 2009, and as member and past secretary of the WOSP. She expresses dedication to her current responsibilities as pledger, staff member on the church newsletter, Lay Reader, and member of the Bishop Committee where she is serving as Clerk. She continues to serve as a church delegate at annual meetings for the Convention of the Diocese of Hawaii. Outside of the church, she retains membership in the Bingao Elem. School & San Nicolas National High School-Bingao Annex Alumni Association. She is currently employed at The AES Design Group, Inc.============ 3. Amonio Coloma Dacanay was born on January 18, 1941. He is the oldest child of seven children to the late Juan Daguimol and Anselma Coloma Dacanay of Salanap, Ilocos Norte, where he attended grade school. He also attended Ilocos Norte Arts & Trade in Laoag City. He immigrated to Hawaii on March 18, 1970 and worked full time with Grace Pacific Corporation for 32 years and as a part time busboy at nights at Sky View Terrace [Fort Shafter] for 12 years, while on Saturdays he also worked part time for the Dole Company for several years. After retirement from Grace Pacific Corporation, he still works part time with his son in law and daughters’ company, AMV Air Conditioning, Inc. Amonio has been married to Isabel Fagaragan Dacanay for 42 years and have 2 daughters, Amibelle [Aldrin’ Villahermosa and Lorelei [Jaime] Dos Santos and have 5 grandchildren, Amber Caitlyn Villahermosa, Aldrin II Villahermosa, Alexa Cassidy Villahermosa, Jeremiah James Dos Santos & Jayden Isaiah Dos Santos. Amonio has been a member of St. Paul’s Church even before Reverend Timoteo Quintero retired in 1997, and became very active when Rev. Canon Randolph Albano took over, became member of the Bishop’s committee, and Sunday morning altar preparation, involved in fundraising and service ushering.============ 4. Juliana “Julie” M. Dureg was born in San Pablo, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She is the second child of Marcelino and Eliza Marquez. She attended elementary school in San Nicolas, Holy Spirit Academy in high school, and Divine Word College of Laoag where she graduated Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting in 1989. She is married to Rodel Ramos Dureg of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, and they are blessed with four children: Julius [Marjorie] ; Justin, Jerrick and Josaiah and two grandchildren, Eliza and Ezekiel, to love and enjoy. Julie joined Rodel to Hawaii in 1993. They started attending St. Paul’s Church regularly in 1995 after the second child was baptized. Both of her sons Julius and Jerrick have served St. Paul’s as acolytes. Currently, Julie is a member of the Bishop’s Committee, Eucharistic Minister, Assistant Treasurer, Women’s group fundraiser coordinator. Pledger and has been a delegate to the Diocesan Convention and the Episcopal AsiaMerica Consultation held in San Francisco, California in June 2002. She is the 2nd Queen of St. Paul’s Church Valentine’s Night in 2006. She works full time for Cookie Corner Hawaii, Inc. [16 years] started as receptionist and now as an Office Manager. She is also working part time as a Financial Representative with Guardian Life Insurance Company. =================5. FELY R. MARIANO was born in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to the late Mauro and Virginia Rivera. e father, Alfredo Rivera. She attended St. Catherine’s School of Midwifery in Manila. She was married to Benjamin in 1962 in the Philippines, and immigrated to Hawaii in 1963. Upon her arrival, she started attending masses at St. Paul’s Church. She participates in various church activities such as fundraisings, feeding the homeless, and cleaning the church on Saturdays. Fely is a pledger, Lay Reader, Bishop Committee member, as well as member and current president of the Women of St. Paul’s. She is involved with activities of the Episcopal Church Women. Fely has been a delegate to several annual meetings of the Convention of the Diocese of Hawaii. She has attended EAM conventions in Seattle and Honolulu. Her community involvement includes being a member of the Abagatan ti Karayan Association of Hawaii and Sarrat Association of Hawaii. Fely and Benjamin were blessed with four beautiful children – Yvette, Benjamin, Shannon and Janet. Sunday August 26, 2012 personal journal and volunteer activities =====This morning, my wife and I went to church, We are both officers of the church. After the 2nd mass, as a General Chair of the 53rd anniversary celebration of the church to be held on Sept 1, I called another steering committee meeting with all the officers and board of advisers, and members of the different committees.=======We talked about the souvenir book, the paging and the number of copies to be printed.=====350 for a guests about 400 attendance.=====we talked about the part of the program,=====I attended the 2nd OFCC Board meeting at the FilComCenter.====In attendance: clockwise from 1.Jean Jeremiah, 2.Atty Harfield, 3.Julius Soria, 4,Rose Churma, 5.Ben Cabreros, 6.Carmen Cabreros, 7.FASHO rep, 8. Sunday August 19, 2012 personal journal/activity. As normal and regular Sunday activity, my wife and I went to church, first mass====after the 2nd mass, my wife and I attended the Bishop's Committee meeting. We talked about the upcoming 53rd anneiversary of the SPC to be held on Sept 1 at the Empress Restaurant.======we have an updated counts of sponsors and advertisers. ===we are on target for the production of the Souvenir Book. We talked about the parts of the event program, its sequence, and who do what ======As a General Chair of the Event, I will be doing theacknowledgement and the closing remark.=====I proposed that my co-chairs Eddie Agullana and Emma Valdez will be part of the presentation of the Bishops Awardees., thus, presentors as follows: Fr. Rev Canon Randolph Albano, REv Canon Liz Beasley, Eddie Agullana and Emma Valdez====Dwayne Bueno, emcee; Keynote Speaker is Rev. Walter Brownridge, Dean. also will do the benediction/closing
