The announcement was at the annual Miss Hawaii Filipina scholarship pageant, attended by more than 500 people at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.================================== Ordonez, who spoke of the importance of unity and disunity among not only Filipinos, but of all people, earned honors for the Best in Terno-Speech phase en route to her state crown, which earned her a $10,000 scholarship from Argosy University among her cache of prizes.================================ She also earns a trip to the Philippines, spending money, and a stipend through the Hawaii Filipino Community Council. Learning at an early age to push beyond her limits, Ordonez also earned special awards including Best in Judges’ Interview phase, Best in Swimsuit, and Miss Popularity based on advertising sales in the program.========================== Raella Castro, Miss Hawaii Island Filipina before her sash was replaced with the First Runner Up, captured the photogenic as well as the Best in Terno phase.================================== Her rigorous “Chopsticks” routine gave her the edge in Best in Talent competition. Rochelle De Leon, the Miss Maui Filipina, captured the Miss Congeniality honor and was named one of two Ambassadors of Culture. Kayla Dela Cruz Cadavona, the Miss Kauai Filipina, earned the Miss Popularity based on ticket sales and was named the second Ambassador of Culture.===================================================== The pageant is part of the Hawaii Filipino Community Council convention, hosted by the Kauai Filipino Community Council. MY PERSONAL NOTE: The last time Miss Oahu Filipina won Miss Hawaii Filipina was 2010 in Lahaina Maui Pageant------Margaret Pascual won the most coveted crown===========
