Segun ken ni Antonio: nabangon ti Malacanang of the North idi 1976; Limned a Barangay ti dan-aw.================================ Paoay was derived from the phrase, makapaway kami, which literally means, “We can live alone”. When the early settlers were frequently attacked by the tirongs, they were forced to move eastward. In their view settlement site, they discovered that they have neighbors, now Batac town. Believing that the tirongs are still a threat to them, their neighbors convinced them to seek refuge in their place. The settlers begged off, and bravely replied, makapaway kami!Through the passage of time, the place was eventually and permanently called Paoay.=============================== Malagipmi ti nadakamat ni Rudy Evan Calixto iti librona a “Ilocos and Other Reflections” nga insagut kadakami ni dati a Minister Counselor sa nag-Ambassador Ben Domingo, dati a destino iti Konsulada Heneral ditoy Honolulu, tubo iti Salcedo, Ilocos Sur, librona ti Hawaii’s Eminent Filipinos idi Enero 27, 1987 ============================================== “Considered the Legendary Town of Ilocos Norte, it remains as it is because of the awesome gigantic structure of the Paoay Church built by the Augustinian monks in the 17h century. Its architectural design is the blending of the east and west making it one of the best churches built in the century.==================================== The lake nearby which draws special interest among historians for it was once a progressive town populated by advanced and scientifically gifted civilization but disappeared in the twinkle of an eye, as the legend goes, because of their evil desires. The now famous Paoay Lake was the exact location of the said community.============================================ Paoay also the seat of government where the Malacanang of the North is situated overlooking the legendary lake, where former President Marcos attends to his duties when visitng the province. OFCC MEMBERSHIP AND PROPER REPRESENTATION TO BOARD MEETING/S

For the Record Only Hello Julius, Just a humble thought I want to share with you, after reading an email from a certain unit president saying that unable to attend, quote: unable to attend the meeting this time........================= This does not mean, that certain unit has no representation because the PRESIDENT [of that org] is NOT ABLE to attend.======================== I believe, for years I am with the OFCC, as served past president and served in various committees, include but not limited to Membership, Convention, Social Action and Special Projects, and currently a member of the Council of Past Presidents, I believe Unit organization has every right and privilege to be represented even though the unit president will not attend for some reason.============================ I read this article from OFCC Bylaws: Section 2,Composition, Art V-Board of Directors, page 7: in partly states....."....If a unit president is unable to attend a meeting, the unit president may appoint, by a written proxy, another officer of a unit organization to represent the unit organization and to have a voice and vote at that particular meeting of the Board of Directors......"========================================== I hope I got it correctly......means that each unit can be represented by proxy, with a written authorization. I can attest to this because that was what happened to me ; served as proxy for Annak ti Sinait...when our president was not able to attend....I always inform the secretary that I have a written authorization from our unit organization's president.================================= No one should be out of representation due to unit president inability to represent the respective unit. Let's remember the power of "Chain of command responsibility....and through proper delegation....as organization is a "community of people" not owned by one or few individuals.....================================ Suggestion ONLY: Maybe that certain information, above, as cited, will be part of Future notice/s....so may we bring more participants by proper and appropriate representation.... =========================== Subject: NOTICE OF JANUARY MEETING Dear all, Happy New Year to all! Please join us at our January Board Meeting on Sunday, January 27, 2013 FilCom Center 2 pm to 4 pm Please confirm your attendance. TO THE COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Per our OFCC President Jean Jeremiah, please prepare and submit a status report of your first 6-month term.
