FEEDING HOMELESS UFCH/OFCC 2012 & PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII SOCIAL SERVICES INSTITUTE FOR HUMAN SERVICES As a Committee, we are humbled and pleased to report the following activities to you. And as part of an effort to help in achieving the UFCH/OFCC goals and objectives, and as in partnership pursuant to the adopted Resolution 2010-001 Social Action Committee Feeding the Homeless in the UFCH annual convention in Lahaina, Maui, July 2010, your Social Action Committee has successfully implemented, and provided our services, in action, the main intent and purposes of such resolution “FEEDING THE HOMELESS” every last Monday of the month led by Amado Yoro and participated in by volunteers repeatedly shared their time in partnership with other organizations both MEN and WOMEN sites, namely: Jean Jeremiah, Fe Velasco, Larry Ramirez, Connie Ramirez, Al Sabangan, Rose Sabangan, Eddie Agas, Aurea Agas, Art Abinsay, Nelia Alimboyoguen, Jimmy Alimboyoguen, Jerry Abinsay, Wilma Luangsphinith, Jun Abinsay, Dr. Elizabeth Abinsay, Amber Abinsay, Danny Villaruz, Cora Salvador, Jesse Pascual, Perlita Sadorra, Angie Santiago, John Witeck, Marcelo Acopan, Charlene Cuaresma, Edna Alikpala, Maria Etrata, Bernadette Fajardo, Lynne Gutierrez, others with special participation of Miss Oahu Filipina Leonevie Mabiog, UFCH received a Certificate of Recognition in 2010-2011 and 2012 by our organizer/coordinator Amado Yoro from Institute for Human Services. B. ADOPT A HWY CLEAN UP PROJECT WITH THE STATE DEPT OR TRANSPORTATION, HIGHWAY DIVISION We would like to express our sincerest thanks to all the volunteers that came and helped us finished the assignment this OFCC administration 2011-2012, doing the regular quarterly clean-up the 2-mile stretch Kalihi St., from Nimitz Hwy up to Kula Kolea St, fronting the Kalihi Elementary School from Oct 2011, Jan 21, 2012, and April 21, 2012, The adopt a highway was done very successfully with committed volunteers that came with us, they are: Fe Velasco, William Cudal, Faye Cudal, Mario Palma, Eddie Agas, Danny Villaruz, Gus Concepcion, Jesse Pascual, and others, Co-partner with OFCC Task Force for Youth Standing Committee co-chaired by Fe Velasco, Jean Jeremiah and Ilalo Parayno in special participation by the Farrington High School and Kalakaua Intermediate School Adriana Nichelle Jones and Monalyn Aparra from Farrington High School, and from Kalakaua Intermediate School: Raizza Pulido, Regine Ramos, Bryson Lu, Jeffrey Bautista, Michelle Bonilla, Jasmine Santiago, Michael Tran. Thank you for the opportunity to serve in this Committee with the consistent guidance and leadership of Amado Yoro, a fellow volunteer and organizer/coordinator of the Mission Day Service. Sunday July 29, 2012 Personal Journal and Volunteer activity ======As usual and as a normal routine in our Sunday schedule, my wife and I went to church as a regular goer and as an officers of the St. Paul's Church.======In the afternoon, I joined the Cayetano for Mayor Unity rally at the Farrington High School Cafeteria. Hundreds and hundreds of people attended.======Campaign volunteers include but not limited to Toy Arre, Judge Graulty, Eddie Agas, Jun Abinsay, Flor Martinez emceed the program.===I met the Damilians group like Ernie Pascua, Lydia Pascua, Roland Pascua, Edith Pascua, Jess Quemado, Princess Quemado, Gladys Emperador, Atty Vernon Rivera, others=========At this rally, Ernie Pascua and I made a guess or prediction that Cayetano will WIN 53-55 % outright on August 11 primary election. Survey says in the Filipino votes: Cayetano is 44%; Carlisle is 8%; and Caaldwell is 3%; 48% undecided;===Hawaii reporter survey says: Cayetano is 63%; Caldwell is 14% and Carlisle is 11%========Star-Advertiser survey says: Cayetano is 47%; Carlisle is 27% and Caldwell is 25%=========

Wednesday July 25, 2012 personal journal and voluntter activity======Early this morning about 5pm, I joined Ben Cayetano for Mayor sign waving lead by Eddie Agas, Sr, in front of the old St. Francis Hospital West, now HMC. About 15 Other volunteers include Charlie R., Larry B, I met a Benjamin B. Cayetano from Nueva Ecija next to me along the road. My approximate count on cars. vehicles passing by is about 1000 per 20 minutes or 3000 per hourore or less======The same morning, former Rep Romy Mindo and his group also sign waving.

Other volunteers include Mario Palma, Kevin, Joann, others.=======Danny and I went to Aloha Stadium Mall Jack in the Box for a cup of coffee. We talked about the next Thursday sign waving and then his Fundraising dinner at the Royal Palace Chinese Restaurant by Ice Palace Rink....As a co-chair in his campaign, I suggested that he must go to corner to corner sign waving, and then door-to-door, meeting personally the residents in his district....set a number houses everyday until the primary on Aug 11------goal is to get an advance votes vs the 2 ds.====at least 1/3 plus 27 or 277-----stay in the high road---- use campaign donation wisely and legally =====

Danny Villaruz, a canditate for District 31, State House of Representatives, introduced the Installing officer and guest speaker Judge Graulty as a former State Representative, State Senator, State Insurance Commissioner, Circuit Court Judge appointed by then Governor Ben Cayetano, now candidate for Honolulu mayor. Graulty as a grassroot coordinator for Cayetano for Mayor. Judge Graulty said: celebration such as this is a reconnection to our roots where we came from. Giving back to our hometown and to the community. Reconnection to Santa, Ilocos Sur. President Enrico said: to unite, to plan, to act and to achieve our goals.

Wednesday July 11, 2012 Volunteer Activities========Early this morning about 5am-7am, joined the Cayetano Sign Waving with Eddie Agas group in front of Hawaii Medical Center/former St. Francis West, and other volunteers.========This afternoon, I attended the preliminary OFCC Board meeting on July 22, 2012 to plan and prepare an agenda and presentation of Jean Jeremiah's new leadership. =======We plan how to address possible questions and inquiries====in attendance were Jean, OFCC new president; Danny, OFCC past president; Amado, OFCC past president; Jake, UFCH past president and former State Representative; Ilalo, OFCC past president and Jun, OFCC past president and former State Representative. =======Tomorrow July 12 will be a Candidates Forum at the Oahu Veterans Center in Foster Village. Danny will participate in the Forum as a candidate for the District 31 House of Representative.

Walk a Mile for Fun July 7, 2012

Walk a Mile for Fun this Saturday morning July 7, 2012======I dropped my wife to work at Barbers Point, now Kalaeloa.====I have to walk by foot today as part of my exercise. It's now 7:45am. I had my back pack with me, with bottled water, my camera, extra t-shirt, lotion. It is a walk, small, slow and regular pace. Just for fun. I passed Bataan Rd, turned left to Nissau Rd connecting to FD Roosevelt Blvd.=======I passed Coral Sea Rd=====then, Corregidor Rd===then Philippine Sea fronting Hawaiian Railway Station===I turned left to Renton Rd, now passing these old plantation houses at Varona Village----======passing the bridge separating Varona and Tenney Village------another plantation houses-----then Park Row==== I reached home about 9:20 am. It's 4 and a half miles.

JULY 4TH 2012 WITH FORMER FRIENDS BERT, MARIO AND IRENE

JULY 4, 2012 THURSDAY Meeting at McDonald Waipahu with Mario Orbito, Bert Ugalino and Irene Ugalino from 10am to 12:30 pm today. We remembered the olden days in the 1976 as a writer, designer, printer. We both organizers of the Tri Media Council except Irene. Irene was active with Ilocos Surian and the UFCH in the 80's. Bert was a former president of UFCH, member of the Bannawag Hawaii Bureau, organizer and officer of the GUMIL USA. Mario was a former OFCC vice president, Gumil USA, Tri Media Council, he is a printer, graphic and designer, I worked with him at the Hawaii Filipino News, Santak, Pluma, we worked with former Ambassador Juan C. Dionisio, Sr. Corky Trinidad, Pepi Nieva, Mario Albalos. We remembered how hard to work in an old typewriter: Corona Smith, printing press manual, varityper, others during the first year in the publication of Ilokandia Magazine in from 1976 up to 1981- the HFN, Santak and Pluma. Irene was an active officer of Ilocos Surian, and the Miss Ilocos Surian Pageant, active with UFCH Mrs. Hawaii Filipina in the 1986-1988 under her husband Bert was the UFCH president. We talked about the Cayetano campaign, and other Filipino-american political figures. We all projected that Cayetano can win outright this primary election on August 11. We plan to meet again.
