SP EDGAR YABES HONORED BY ATSIH AND SNHSAAH SEPT 23, 2014

Ilocos Sur Sanggunian Panlalawigan member Edgar Yabes of Sinait has been honored by kababayan in Hawaii=========== SEPTEMBER 23, 2014 TUESDAY -----An Evening with Sanggunian Panlalawigan Edgar Yabes and Mrs. Emerita Reyno Yabes at the Waimalu Chop Suey jointly sponsored by the Annak Ti Sinait Iti Hawaii and Sinait National High School Alumni Association of Hawaii led by Augusto Concepcion and Davelyn Quijano, president respectively.============================ In attendance: Oahu Filipino Community Council President Alex Vergara, Ilocos Surian Association of Hawaii President Danny Villaruz, Dr. Julius Soria, Santanians, Helen Grace Go, Candonians; Alice Castaneda and Bert Castaneda, San Juan Lapog; Mariano Viloria and Mrs. Viloria, Solotsolot; Tessie Aganon, Vigan Association of Hawaii & Associates; Bernadette Fajardo and Cesar, Candon. =========================== Miss Oahu Filipina Lovely Orsino and Mrs. Orsino; Josie Takemoto, Dolly Willing, Hermie and Bill Gaspar, Romulo and Ophelia Basuel, Ador and Davelyn Quijano; Augusto Concepcion, Estrella and Paul Taong, Merly Yoro, Leonila Degala, Jesus Ibus. =========================== The brief and informal program was emceed by Romulo Basuel, vice president for both organizations and the opening prayer offered by Pastor Jesus Ibus. ========================== Davelyn Quijano and Gus Concepcion gracious welcome the group and remarks made by Danny Villaruz. ============================ Special Presentation of a Certificate of Recognition for Service Award to SP Edgar Yabes in recognition in his invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the Municipality of Sinait as a former member of Sanggunian Bayan, former vice mayor and former mayor and the furtherance of other communities and areas of development being former member of the Board of Regents, University of Northern Philippines, Vigan and now member of the Ilocos Sur Provincial Board representing the first district. SP Yabes is serving as the chairman of Youth & Sports Development, Tourism, Culture & Arts and Living Treasures & Development.. ================================= Co-organizer and Adviser Amado Yoro and Estrella Taong assisted by Gus Concepcion, Davelyn Quijano presented the award. ================================ A resolution prepared by some members of the Hawaii State House of Representatives introduced by Representative Romy Cachola also presented by Amado Yoro, Alex Vergara, Danny Villaruz, Davelyn Quijano, Gus Concepcion, Estrella Taong. =================================== Brief remarks congratulating SP Edgar Yabes and Mrs. Emerita Reyno Yabes was given by OFCC president Alex Vergara. ======================================= Acknowledgement and Closing by Hermie Gaspar, Benediction by Rev. Alex Vergara. ========================================= Note: Recent month, Annak Ti Sinait Iti Hawaii and SNHSAAH also welcomed and honored Engineer Glenn Guzman, vice mayor of Sinait and SB Romel Dayoan and Punong Barangay Dadalaquiten Norte Roselily Dayoan as they visiting Hawaii.====================================== Glimpse in significant and worthwhile activities, projects and participations has been highlighted by this writer.======================= These include but not limited to Oahu Filipino Community Council and UFCH participation and deep involvement. Annak Ti Sinait iti Hawaii and Sinait National High School Assn of Hawaii were awarded as TOP TEN ORGANIZATIONS 2013-2014 by OFCC.===================== Involved for the Walk for Fun projects to raise fund for the Yolanda/Hyan victims, contributor to the FilComCenter, very much active with Ilocos surian Medical Mission, and the President Elpidio Quirino Humantarian and Leadership Award, construction of the Sto Cristo Milagroso Shrine or marker in Dadalaqutien Norte, Sinait- a project is a initiated by Amado Yoro- as an idea to concrete structure with the support of tens of tens supporters and donors, especially the parcel of land whereby the Marker was constructed was donated by the ILORETA family, Sinait Medical Mission last April 2014 led by Davelyn Quijano, Hermie Gaspar, Gus Concepcion;====================== SNHSAAH was co-organized by this writer on July 16, 1995 and the first president was Dr. Estrella Pada Taong, a retired school District supervisor; ATSIH was also co-organized by this writer on December 13, 1997 and Manuel Cabacungan, a former Sinait Municipal treasurer served as first president.===========================Antonio Ipalari has served the longest president ever for ATSIH from March 2003 to June 2014================ These two organizations were organized for reasons: unite sons and daughters of Sinait, foster camaraderie, provide scholarship and provide educational equipments for the high students at SNHS, participate and provide services to the general community.====================== As a first Sinaitenian who served as OFCC president in 1981-82, still this writer is very much involved with the Islandwide Council of various Filipino organizations; co-chair of the Annual Convention, organized the Mission Day Service with the Institute for Human Services, the OFCC Special Projects Adopt a Hwy, Feeding the Homeless, a member of the Council of Past Presidents and other organization in the Island.[[[[Member of the American Institute of Parliamentarian, Mission Ministry Network, Inc.
