Maria Cristina White Took oath of office for a second term for Santiaguenians Association of Hawaii Presidency =============== Amado I. Yoro ===================== Maria Cristina White was reelected and confirmed president of Santiaguenians Association of Hawaii as duly installed and took her oath of office by raising her right hand before the Honorable Brandon Elefante, member of the Honolulu Council during the Christmas Gala night at the Banyan Ballroom, Hale Koa Hotel on December 21, 2014 in witnessed by guests from the cross section of the community ================================= According to White, Santiaguenians Assn of Hawaii was organized in 1983 by certain Primitiva [Prima] Escalona. With other co-organizers, SAH’s Main objectives is to unite the former residents of Santiago, Ilocos Sur who are now residing in Hawaii; to foster good relationship among themselves here in abroad; to help provide scholarship to their deserving students children; to give donation to the bereaved family of their members and to give donations to the co-members repatriating to the Philippines [Santiago] for good. ============================= Other officers and representatives installed to serve 2015-2017 are as follows 1ST VICE PRESIDENT – THOMAS QUINTOS 2ND VICE PRESIDENT – RUDOLFO ETRATA SECRETARY - ELSIE VALDEZ ASST. Raymund Ellorin. =============== First Vice president Thomas Quintos delivered his welcome address. ==================== Highlights of the program were entertainment songs and dances. Presentation of Scholarship Awards. ========================== SAH is a very supportive to the ISAH Medical Mission and the Ilocos Surian Association 2nd President Elpidio Quirino Humanitarian Award 2015 and Mrs. ISAH 2015. ============================= Who is Maria Cristina? She wants to get involve in certain community service such as the feeding the homeless and the adopt a highway projects. “I have so much respect and admiration of you for what endeavors you are doing as you giving back to the community”, Cristina said. “I have so much learned from you as an organizer and community leader” ========================== SAH now is one of the newest organizations getting involved with the OFCC/UFCH partnership Mission Day Service organized and coordinated and by the OFCC Special Projects chaired by this writer thru UFCH 2010-001 Resolution. ###
